CASE STUDY & SUCCESS STORIES

Name- Vanya

Age- 58

Location- Qatar

BMI: 35

Case history-Vanya, at the age of 58, was suffering from various health issues and was struggling to lose weight. Her weight was stuck at 79 kgs and was not coming down despite starving herself every day and not eating food at social events. She faced abnormally high palpitations, had sciatic pain, suffered from spondylitis, and her blood report depicted inflammation and various nutritional deficiencies such as vitamin D and Omega 3, which made her health issues more severe. Apart from that, she was frequently constipated and bloated. She couldn't walk for more than 5-10 minutes due to shortness of breath and had difficulty finishing daily household chores. It led to taking frequent breaks due to severe body aches, knee pains, fatigue and poor energy levels. She wanted to improve her overall health, learn to enjoy her favourite foods while still not gaining weight, and achieve a healthy, sustainable, and fit lifestyle.

Approach by the best nutritionist in Telangana, Hyderabad, Deepika Chalasani-

After her food diary analysis, we discovered that her diet was significantly low in optimum protein especially during the first half of the day. She consumed small portions of food throughout the day and 3 – 4 teas daily to give her the best energy to manage her daily chores. The portion size and food combinations were incorrect, which led to nutritional deficiencies. She was not meeting her daily fibre needs, which impacted her gut health and caused digestive issues. Her diet lacked variety and optimum vegetable intake. Hence, we gave her a simple, easy-to-follow meal plan that addressed her health issues and macronutrient requirements. We made her meal plan considering her residential city and including local and seasonal foods that are readily available and accessible. For better digestion, we gave her soft and easy-to-digest foods such as single-polished rice, boiled vegetables, soups, eggs, etc. We suggested she improve their water intake to aid with the constipation issues.

Variety and colourful foods were incorporated. We gave her efficient protein suitable for her needs, such as tofu, eggs, and protein shakes. Sufficient vegetables in soups, saladds, and curries could be easily consumed. Green rotis, murukku, and nachos were provided as healthy snack options by Shvasa. Complex carbohydrates were suggested for better insulin activity and to meet fibre needs. All the inflammatory foods were eliminated from the diet for better metabolism and hormone functions. We ensured optimum gaps between her meals to ensure an appropriate fasting and feasting ratio, which helped improve her health. We suggested ajwain and saunf water to keep away bloating and acidity. Healthy and quick recipes and guidance on meal prepping were provided to make her health journey easy and sustainable. Constant support, motivation and guidance were provided to achieve her health's best.

Result:

With our approach and constant support, within the first 2-3 weeks, her back pain and palpitations significantly reduced. Her energy levels significantly increased, and she could easily finish her daily chores. Her step count gradually increased to 8k without any discomfort or pain. Her bloating and constipation issues disappeared. Her digestion and metabolism improved. She even lost 9 kgs on her journey. She returned to her weight when she was 35 and came down by three sizes. She enjoyed her favourite foods without gaining weight as she learned to balance healthy and pleasurable foods. Her eating pattern and variety of foods got better.
