Pramila’s Journey: Reducing blood pressure & weight along with leading a healthy active lifestyle, Balancing Blood Pressure and Life, with Every Bite.

CASE STUDY & SUCCESS STORIES

Name:Pramila

Age:43

Location: Scotland

Case History:

When Pramila joined our program, she was seeking more than just weight loss — she was looking for a way to feel better in her own body and regain control over her health. Weighing 90 kg, she struggled with an auto immune ailment, severe gut issues of bloating, fluctuance and mild cramps, persistent fatigue, joint pain, and higher hypertension than acceptable range (change the language) and over the range LDL. Her blood pressure levels most often hovered in the 150/100 and 140/90 range and therefore was asked to lose weight. Her initial blood work revealed several red flags: her cholesterol was elevated at 5.9 mmol/L, and her TG/HDL ratio stood at 6.8, suggesting a hypertrophic body type with underlying insulin resistance. Her Atherogenic Index of Plasma (AIP) was 0.4 — a clear indication of high cardiovascular risk. Additionally, Pramila’s WBC count was elevated at 10,700, indicating ongoing systemic inflammation. Her GGT level measured at 42, a marker often associated with early-stage fatty liver. These biomarkers collectively suggested a metabolically stressed and inflamed state—placing her at significant risk for worsening hypertension. She also reported frequent palpitations, a symptom commonly linked to imbalances in iron or vitamin B12, and reflective of potential cardiovascular dysregulation

Approach by the best online nutritionist, and dietician in Hyderabad, Telangana, India Deepika Chalasani

Under the guidance of Deepika Chalasani, Pramila was placed on a personalized lifestyle and nutrition protocol that directly targeted her gut health, metabolic dysfunction and cardiovascular risk markers. The core focus of her plan was to provide her gut friendly nutrition while reducing systemic inflammation, stabilize insulin levels, and support liver and heart function through therapeutic nutrition. Her meal plan was carefully curated to include anti-inflammatory foods like green leafy vegetables, soft and easy to digest vegetables such as ash guard, carrots, beetroots, beans, pumpkin, and bottle gourd, while minimizing root vegetables in the evening to reduce glucose spikes and sodium retention—both important for managing hypertension.

Special attention was given to micronutrient balance, especially iron, vitamin B12, and selenium, with food-based sources emphasized to support heart rhythm and reduce palpitations. Her day started with hydration and ginger-turmeric water, along with brazil nut, followed by a protein-rich breakfast like vegetable omelet with egg whites with low – medium glycemic fruits grown in Scotland such as apples, pears and plums. Lunches combined steamed or sautéed vegetables with quinoa, millets, or brown rice, and included lean and organic protein like grilled fish, chicken thigh to ensure sustained energy and insulin control. Iron-rich greens like spinach, amaranth, and fenugreek were paired with lemon juice to enhance absorption. We gave her recipes that suited her taste buds and the Indian palate.

Evenings included a light soup and either dal dosa, pessarattu, or quinoa salad with moderate amounts of lean protein. The plan maintained a consistent C:P:F ratio of 51:19:30, with a total intake of 1237 kcal and 60g protein, aligning with her hypertrophic body type and supporting gradual weight and fat loss without triggering water retention. The approach also included gut-friendly practices like spacing meals every 3.5–4 hours and avoiding heavy, starchy dinners. Together, this comprehensive and functional plan helped Pramila reduce inflammation, lower cholesterol, and begin managing her hypertension at the root — without relying solely on medication.

Progress :

●       Weight:90 kgs- Reduced to 82.7 kg

●       Cholesterol: Improved from 5.9 to 5.2 mmol/L

●       Blood Pressure: 120 /80 or 130/85

●       Pain: Now under control, with rare use of painkillers

●       Blood Sugar: 5.8 mmol/L – stable

●       Thyroid & Hemoglobin: Normal

●    Energy & Sleep:Sleep through the night and waking up fresh. Able to 10000 – 12000 steps comfortably through the day and 30 – 45 minutes out of comfort zone walks.

She mentioned on call that now her blood pressure is in the 120/80 or 130/85 which is good progress and therefore she was recommending our services to others, her cardiometabolic markers have improved, and her palpitations have reduced in intensity. The changes point toward better vascular function and reduced cardiovascular strain.

Outcome:

Pramila’s journey is a perfect example of how a root-cause-based, functional nutrition approach can do far more than just facilitate weight loss. Under Deepika ma’am’s structured guidance, her program not only helped her lose fat but also targeted the underlying risk factors of hypertension — inflammation, poor fat metabolism, and hormonal imbalances.

Today, Pramila is more aware, more active, and better equipped to maintain a heart-healthy, sustainable lifestyle. This is just the beginning of her transformation — one that's powered by science, care, and the right kind of food.
