BMI- 25.8 kg/m2

Profession- IT field

Location- Hyderabad

Case history- Riva, a young IT professional, has been trying to lose weight for long but has been unable to. She has been suffering from PCOD, making losing weight more difficult. She felt lethargic throughout the day and faced a lot of cravings. Her blood reports showed high triglyceride levels and inflammation in the body with Hs-Crp of 4. She was also deficient in iron, vitamin D, b12, etc., so she lacked energy and could not complete her day-to-day work. She was looking to lose weight sustainably, which is suitable for her travelling schedule and helps manage her health issues.

Approach by the best weight loss nutritionist in Telangana, India- On analysing her food diary, we learned that there wasn’t sufficient protein in her meals and she had erratic meal timings. Her foods consisted mainly of simple carbohydrates, and the meals were large in one go. Such eating patterns hampered managing PCOD. We started by correcting her vitamin deficiency through food and supplements. We designed a meal with a macronutrient ratio suitable to her health goal and body type. Small but frequent meals were suggested. We provided her with optimum efficient protein, which is essential for hormonal function, such as eggs, yoghurt, hung curd, homemade paneer, pulses, legumes and tofu. Balanced meals were given with combinations of complex carbs and healthy fats. Dates paste was suggested with seasonal fruits to manage insulin spikes. Lots of vegetables were provided to meet fibre and micronutrient demands in the form of salads, curry and sautéed. We ensured she had optimum water intake and got deep sleep since PCOD can be managed and improved holistically. We also suggested adequate physical activity. She had to travel to Europe for a month to help her sister with her baby. We guided her with the best meal choices so that she could sustain her weight even during her travels. But after returning, she was facing severe hair fall, to which we suggested she include date seed paste, which also helped with her iron levels. We gave her constant guidance and real-time support.

Through our support and guidance, she lost 4 kgs in 1.5 months and has learnt to sustain her weight during her travel as well. Her PCOD condition improved significantly. The scans showed that her PCOD had reduced considerably. Her period cycle for the past 3 months has been regular. Her sleep and bowel movements got better. She did not face any sugar cravings, and her mood swings before and during PMS reduced significantly and got better. She does not feel lethargic now, and her energy levels stay good throughout the day. Her overall health and blood parameters, such as iron and triglycerides, improved.
