CASE STUDY & SUCCESS STORIES

Name: Nagarjuna

Age: 35

BMI: 29.4 kg/m2

Profession: Software Engineer, Manikonda

Case History: Nagarjuna, a young software engineer, was suffering from fatigue throughout the day and had episodes of anxiety. He also experienced disturbed sleep very often which, led him to overthink situations. These conditions made him very tense and reduced his productivity at work. He reached out to a neurologist for help, who started him on medications but also asked him to take a nutritionist for help. Hence, he decided to approach us to help him with his anxiety and fatigue. His earlier experience with a dietician was bad. He lost weight but started experiencing fatigue and he felt that his anxiety episodes started after he started the previous diet regimen and therefore was quite sceptical about taking another program.

Approach by the best weight loss nutritionist, Hyderabad, Telangana, India: The first step was to address his scepticism about nutrition programs. We started by explaining the science of weight loss and why portion-controlled diet programs could cause fatigue and anxiety. We also asked him to do blood tests that gave us his current nutritional status like vit d, b12, magnesium, and zinc and also other blood tests that gave us the status of current organ health like lipid profile, liver health, thyroid, kidney health so that we could arrive at the nutritional composition that supports his inner organ health. His blood reports suggested that he had severe nutritional deficiencies like vit d, b12 which caused anxiety and issues related to the nervous system. and his dietary recall suggested that he was following a food regimen that was causing sugar swings leading to fatigue, energy loss and increased anxiety episodes. Every time he experienced fatigue, he would resort to nibbling, snacking and quick energy-giving food like fruit juices. We put him on a nutrient-dense program that took care of his deficiencies along with supplementation. Since he has a working wife and both of them had hectic schedules, the food recipes given were easy to execute by their maid who used to do their cooking. We gave him a program that took care of metabolic flexibility keeping him energized through the day and therefore he did not resort to nibbling and snacking. Since he would get into episodes of overthinking towards late evening and early hours in the morning, we started him on cardio-based exercise in the evening that would make him tired and therefore aid in restful sleep. The foods were given such that they helped him improve his mood swings, prevent irritability and achieve satiety. A fiber-rich and complete protein diet were incorporated which would help him achieve weight loss.

Results: In the first couple of weeks, he saw significant improvement in his energy levels and quality of sleep and his anxiety levels reduced. There was also an improvement in his mood swings. Over the course of 6 months, his neuro-related medications were tapered and he no longer needed any medications. He lost 10kgs while managing hectic work schedules and enjoying festival food.

Bad anxiety and gained weight. Had meds for anxiety. He was eating quick dieting, and insulin spikes which caused mood swings and anxiety. Initially, we put on a metabolic flexible program to improve mood change irritability anxiety with food. Low vit d which was the major cause. He lost weight. His sleep improved. Lost 10kgs along with work schedule and travel. He is off the meds as well. He has sustained it now for over 6 months.
